Went For A Walk

Is there something

we can learn from the Autumn

about brokenness?

The leaves have held on

as long as they could,

But finally give up

And fall to the floor,

Like a copper mirror

Shattered

Into a thousand pieces.

And the trees do not despair.

How can they be so confident?
